A letter of gratitude, often known as a thank you letter, is written when an individual or a group wants to show their appreciation. When the recipient is a friend, acquaintance, or relative, thank-you letters can be written by hand for added emphasis.
As an example from my own life, I donated to a political campaign earlier this year. Two weeks after my contribution, I walked to my mailbox and found a letter in the mail. I opened the envelope and found a short handwritten note from the candidate expressing gratitude to the donation. Speaking from experience, I found the note written in pen to be a nice gesture.
Here are some non-awkward thank you letter examples you can use to send to different people and occasions as well.
